The Reisa Valley still features large untouched nature areas and is part of “Europe’s last wilderness”. The large variations in climate and bedrock combine to give the valley wide diversity of nature types and species. The inner parts of the Reisa Valley are protected as the Reisa National Park.
The nature here is incredibly special, with narrow valleys and chasms that cut their way like a large canyon in the mountain plain. The main river and tributaries form a series of waterfalls, the best known of which are Imofossen and Mollisfossen, Northern Europe’s highest waterfall (269 m).
We use the long riverboats and have experienced guide who transport our guests into the Reisa National Park, which starts at Seima. We can savour lunch right beside the spectacular Mollisfossen. The national park boasts a unique nature and a rich fauna and flora. At the top of the valley, we can walk into Imofossen, which is the final stop for salmon, which have swum 85 km to get here. Tourists from around the globe visit there annually to experience this unique and impressive valley.
